It is our pleasure to announce this years Almere Diwali festival planned on the 19th of October 2019.
Last year's event was a great success with many visitors, where we received many positive responses from the community and from the official local government. It is therefore a great honour for Stichting IFA to organise the indoor Diwali Festival in Almere for 2nd time.
We commit to do our utmost best to ensure a great Diwali festival and invite everyone to join us at this happy free event.
As we will get closer to the event date, we will publish more information on this website and on our social channels. Please come back to this website for the newest information and/or follow us Facebook and/or Instagram.
Our new event location
For Almere Diwali 2019 we are very happy and proud to partner with Trinitas Gymnasium in Almere. Their location is central in Almere, which is easy to reach by public transport and has lots of free parking space. We will celebrate Diwali in one open space area where everyone can enjoy the activities, food and drink while being entertained with many performances on the main central stage.
DIWALI - The Hindu Festival of Light
Worship of goddess Lakshmi and gathering of family members. The festival symbolises triumph of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. In today’s modern-day world this festival of lights reaffirms our belief in hope, commitment of friendship, religious tolerance and spreading the word of peace and harmony.
Let us all get together and celebrate Diwali with the spirit of cheer and union in Almere.
This festival is an effort of Stichting International Festivals Almere (IFA) to represent the happy confluence of residents and the expat community, bringing together the cultures in diverse land.
Stichting IFA with support of Gemeente Almere rolls out the red carpet, yet again, to all the expats for this integration of cultures and celebration of the festival of lights “Creating a home away from home”.
The entry to the festival is open and free for everyone.
FOOD & DRINKS
Naturally! There is no party without food and drinks!
At the venue there will be many Indian and non-Indian foods and snacks available which can you purchase. From samosa, pani puri, paratha's to full dishes based on the rich Indian cuisine that we know. Also this year we will have a more variety of foods from several cultural backgrounds.
A great way to have the best of many worlds in one place.
At the venue there will be several bars serving a variety of drinks.
MUSIC, DANCE, MASTI
For the little ones we will have a dedicated area for them to enjoy. At the venue all the activities are very close to each other, you will not have to worry for a bit.
The kids will be enjoying painting of Diya's or Henna tattoo's. In any case, there will be enough activities for the children to enjoy a lovely Diwali celebration together with the whole family and their friends.
It is our pleasure to present a variety of music and dance acts on our stage.
We will have several dance groups representing various dance styles our culture has to offer.
Throughout the day we will have the musical support of our own DJ who will assure you will stay on your feet. Also we will have live performing bands showcasing the natural synergy of Bollywood sounds with World Music grooves.
Together with a pinch of your own masti we will ensure you will experience a memorable Diwali celebration.
